Pebble beach
Chalikia is the central pebble option rather than the sandy west beach. Water becomes deeper more quickly than at Pachia Ammos.
Chalikia is the easy east-side alternative: a central pebble beach with deeper water, restaurants nearby and the promenade running beside it.
Chalikia sits at the eastern end of Paleochora’s seafront. It is a fully organised pebble beach with cafés and restaurants close by, making it a strong choice when you want to swim without turning the day into a separate outing.

The east promenade runs beside the beach and leads toward the ferry jetty and central seafront.
Sunbeds, showers, cafés, snacks, restaurants and accommodation are all close enough to combine beach time with the rest of town.
It is close enough to the centre for a spontaneous swim rather than a planned beach day.
Continue along the east seafront toward the jetty and centre after swimming.
Chalikia works naturally with dinner because taverns and cafés begin almost at the beach edge.
Paleochora has beaches on both sides of the peninsula. Wind and sea conditions can feel different between Pachia Ammos and Chalikia, so locals often choose the side that feels better that day.
